Composio is a production-grade toolset and authentication platform that enables autonomous AI agents to interact with over 250 external applications and developer APIs. While LLMs excel at reasoning, giving agents permission to execute real actions across GitHub, Slack, Jira, Gmail, Salesforce, and Linear traditionally requires writing complex OAuth authentication flows and API wrappers. Composio's architecture handles the complete lifecycle of agent-to-application communication. When an agent requests an action (e.g. creating a GitHub issue or drafting a Gmail email), Composio validates user authentication tokens, maps the LLM function call to the target API endpoint, handles rate limits, and returns formatted JSON results. Composio includes pre-built tool actions for more than 250 enterprise services across developer tooling, CRM, productivity, database management, and communications. The platform also supports custom OpenAPI specifications, enabling developers to convert internal microservice REST APIs into AI-callable agent tools in seconds.
